![]() All of the time and effort that has been ploughed into making your wedding day as special and unique as you and all that remains are a set of out of focus, not properly lit or composed images, which don’t reflect the story of your special day as it unfolded. When my husband and I decided to get married, it was an amazing day from start to finish. I’d love to say that our wedding photographs reflect everything that took place on the day, and live up to our expectations, but they just don’t. The one image that I have of myself full length in my wedding gown (which did cost a small fortune), and the dress is tucked under at the front. It makes me sad just thinking about it. Having gone through this myself, I know how important it is to find the right wedding photographer – someone who will provide you with a set of images that you will be proud to share with friends and family and cherish for years to come. I would never have considered launching my business unless I had been through the rigours of training with some of the most respected in the industry, immersing myself and working hard to be the best that I can be. I don’t think that I will ever stop learning either, nor would I want to. I am a member of The Guild of Photographers and the Society for Wedding and Portrait Photographers. Since joining The Guild, I have gone on to win numerous national awards. The reason that I mention this is because it’s important to know that whoever you choose to capture your special day is serious about their photography, and is continuing to improve their craft with the support of a professional body. Your wedding day should (touch wood), take place only once in your lifetime. Having a professional on board who understands how to create beautiful images that complement the lighting and ambience available on the day should not be underestimated. Your images, hopefully not just on a disc, but in a beautiful album, will be part of the legacy that you can pass on to future generations. Can Uncle Fred hope to capture your day in the same way? Great if he understands the technical side of things, but what happens if half way through the day he decides to retreat to the bar to enjoy proceedings? If it’s all about keeping the cost down, there are so many other areas that can be trimmed or personal touches that can be hand-made. But cutting corners on your wedding photography will only lead to a lot of regret, and let’s face it, weddings are all about celebrating. What better way to do that, than to have your special day captured as it should be, by a professional? ![]() Nicola Rowley – www.nicolarowleyphotography.com To contact Nicola either: Email: nicola@nicolarowleyphotography.com Tel: 07932 656685 Facebook: Nicola Rowley Photography Nicola Rowley Photography offers Stylish and Creative Wedding & Portrait Photography is based in Surrey but also covers across the UK, locally covering London, Sussex, Essex and Kent.
